DotPlot is now Clarify. Clarify lets people ask questions of enterprise data in everyday language and get answers with their sources. Each answer is limited to the data the person asking is allowed to see.
How an answer is built
People ask what they need to know in everyday language, and can follow up the way they would with a colleague. Clarify checks the question against access rights, queries the data, and answers with the sources it used. Each answer can be checked against those sources, so the person asking can see where a figure or statement came from.
The product page shows this as a short sequence: a question is asked, the access check runs, the data is queried, and the answer is returned with its sources.
Within each person’s access
Access is part of the answer, not a step added afterwards. Governance-aware access controls mean an answer only draws on data the person asking is allowed to see. The Clarify page gives one example: for a given user, the order book and shipments are allowed, while price lists are skipped.
What it means for you
Clarify is built for questions that wait in a queue for someone to dig out of the data. The Clarify product page walks through how it answers a question, from the question itself to the access check and the sources.
If you want to see it working on your own data, our Ask your data use case is the next place to look.
